ABOUT THE BAND…
Nick Pattison as Bjorn Ulvaeus
Nick’s musical career included composing, teaching, and performing a variety of styles of music. Nick first started playing guitar at age 10, and was soon participating in – and winning – the American Guild of Music guitar competitions. By age 16, Nick was playing professionally in clubs and bars around southern Ontario. Coming from a diverse musical family – his uncle played keyboards with Chet Atkins – helped Nick develop a firm grasp of many idioms. This in turn has led to many gigs as both a sideman and band leader. From rock to funk, country to blues, Nick can play it all!
Upon completion of an Arts degree from Queen’s University in 1992, Nick
focused on developing his compositional skills. His original music has received
airplay on local Toronto radio (Q107, CFNY). He has also performed as a sideman
on numerous symphonic projects, show bands, and recordings. In conjunction with
his duties as a guitar player for hire, Nick is excited to play the role of Bjorn in
ABBA Revisited- a band in which he co-founded. He is a sought after teacher,
performer and studio musician and is always looking for new musical challenges.
Neil Numminen (Bass)
Neil has been performing music from his early teens, first on trumpet, than a
switch to bass at the age of 17 which instantly had him in demand. He toured
Ontario and Quebec extensively in his early twenties before joining one of the
seminal international tribute shows “The White” whose mandate was recalling the
live spirit of Led Zeppelin.
In his late twenties he established Dalton Music which had the opportunity to
expand in the multiple directions of music retail, teaching and live event sound
support. In the last capacity he’s worked with an extensive list of Canada’s
greatest. One of his proud mementos is an autographed Pierre Berton book,
thanking him for the “great sound” at an event Pierre was hosting.
All through this time Neil continued to play music, even spending a couple of
years away from his main love the bass, playing drums.
Over the decades Neil has stayed continually in demand for his bass skills on stage
and in studio for a for a vast array of bands and artists.
He’s accumulated a truly encyclopedic “book” of artists that he’s covered in the
tribute scene, and played before an uncountable number of music lovers all around
the world.
Neil is very thankful and continues to be thoroughly excited to share the great joy
performance brings, the challenge of ever-expanding musical studies, and of
course, the opportunities to meet new friends, that the gift of music has brought
him.
Jeff Scott as Benny Anderson
A native of Toronto Canada, Jeff Scott began playing piano at 7 years of age, and
studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music for 11 years. He began playing
professionally in the late 1980's, quickly gaining regular work in local clubs and
piano bars. During this time, Jeff also managed to complete his Bachelor of Arts
Degree from York University. Since 1995 he has toured North America
extensively with the band “Benny and the Jets” -a tribute to Elton John- a band he
founded and plays the lead character in. Jeff is excited to play the role of Benny
Anderson in Abba Revisited. Along with his strong vocal and piano skills on stage,
he is an accomplished songwriter, musical arranger and recording engineer,
penning several songs for himself and others in the custom designed digital
recording studio in his home.
Andrea Brunet as Anni-Frid Lyngstad
Andrea Brunet was born in a French Canadian family East of Cornwall Ontario
and was always surrounded with music since an early age. Her father played piano
and guitar without ever knowing musical notation and so, following in her father’s
footstep seemed like a natural fit. She embarked on her journey to Sudbury Ontario
where she started her studies in classical voice and piano at Cambrian College in
Sudbury and then expanded her love for jazz at Mohawk College in Hamilton
Ontario Canada. After teaching vocals for a few years, she decided to embark on
the performance side and has since been involved in a multitude of musical
productions.
Her beginnings were a little different then today. She first started touring as a
Shania Twain tribute artist, traveling from coast to coast in Canada for a couple of
years then dabbled in singing “Cher” until she embraced the wonderful world of
ABBA. It has given her the chance to travel not only across Canada, but
internationally as well. “”I love singing and performing the music of “ABBA” she
says, it’s everything in one. You get to sing beautiful harmonies, dance to the
music, wear very unique costumes and try to capture the essence of the real
members of ABBA on stage. So there is a little bit of acting involved as well which
is a lot of fun for us, and for the audience as well.”” Andrea is excited to play the
role of Ann-Frid Lyngstad in Abba Revisited.
Kristal Jackson as Agnetha Faltskog
Kristal Jackson was born in Toronto, ON, and began singing and acting at the very
young age of two years old. Kristal studied vocals at the Royal Conservatory of
Music in Toronto, for over 10 years. She spent her youth starring in many local
musical theatre productions, and competing in vocal competitions across the
province. Kristal has always expressed a passion for the arts, and even worked with
youth, teaching private vocal lessons for over 9 years.
At the age of 17, Kristal began her musical career travelling internationally in a
plethora of musical tributes and shows. She has been performing the music of
Abba around the world, fronting symphony orchestras and working alongside
many talented musicians and travelling with her band for over 18 years.
Kristal currently resides North of Toronto, in the small town of Pefferlaw with her
husband and three sons. She continues to perform, and travel across the globe with
ABBA Revisited- the band she co-founded, and is thrilled to be playing the role of
Agnetha Faltskog. When she’s not on stage, in the winter months, she can be found
at the local hockey rink with her boys, or out on the lake in the summer. Kristal
feels blessed to be able to balance her passion for musical performance, and raising
a family with all the love and support of her family and friends.
